Emery Rucker Shelter – Reston, Virginia

This past week, our team had the honor of visiting the Emery Rucker Homeless Community Shelter in Reston, Virginia, where we shared homemade meals with 150 individuals. What made this day special was not just the food itself, but the love with which it was prepared. There was joy on the faces of those we served—smiles that reminded us that even a simple plate of home-cooked food can stir comfort, belonging, and a sense of being valued.

But we didn’t just feed bodies—we sought to feed souls. Alongside serving meals, we joined together in prayer and worship, lifting up the needs of the shelter residents before God. We shared the message of salvation, reminding each person that they are not forgotten, that God knows them by name, and that His love can restore, heal, and transform.

We anticipate testimonies of breakthrough, healing, and renewed strength from this encounter. We believe seeds of faith were planted, and that many will look back on this day as a turning point—a moment when hope was reignited.
